We aim to be a company that can realize a variety of ways of being by providing a place where people can make the most of their aptitudes and abilities. To this end, we take a variety of management approaches, such as promoting the employment of women, hiring and educating foreign workers, and creating work opportunities for people with disabilities.
At the Atsugi Head Office Service Plant, for example, employees from more than 20 different nationalities are currently employed. We are making efforts to create an environment where employees can enjoy an international workplace by introducing greetings from various countries in our company newsletters and incorporating dishes from various countries into the menu of the employee cafeteria.
With regard to the employment of people with disabilities, our goal is not to achieve the statutory employment rates, but to create an environment where they can fully demonstrate their abilities as members of the company, and we have been actively pursuing this goal. For example, we are actively working on activities to set up a light workspace in the workplace and extract and incorporate specific tasks from the manufacturing site so that people with disabilities can be engaged in such tasks, as well as scanning and other clerical work. The scope of their work has expanded through collaboration with manufacturing sites, and they are not responsible for more than 30 work processes. We will continue to aim to create an environment where all employees can work with pride and motivation.
